His most noteworthy achievement, in the appellate review system, has been Stanton v. Nationwide. This case substantially widened the scope of recovery after prevailing in the Supreme Court of Ohio. The Stanton case was heralded as significant by the national publication Lawyers Weekly USA.

Mr. Gelwicks served as co-counsel for the Hester v. Dwivedi case before the Ohio Supreme Court. This case dealt with the complex legal and philosophical issues surrounding ‘wrongful life.’ This closely-watched dispute was extensively covered by Ohio news outlets.

Mr. Gelwicks has served as an expert on the law for national and local media. He has been a guest on television and radio programs. Tom Gelwicks also has been asked to provide his commentary, on the dynamics of injury law, for print publications such as the Chicago Tribune and the Cincinnati Enquirer.
